Good people of tumble err

Today I have a very sad announcement: I am leaving you all and shall be gone for a considerable amount of time. Yes, this goat has indeed many twists and turns ahead, and come this fall upon my return to your Fandom fueled teenage biased based site, I shall be all the more wiser, with many stories of my conquests. I shall return with mountains of art, crappy flashes and hopefully an rpg game, so be patient people of the tumblr site, goat shall return to you. Goodbye, and goat luck to everyone.
(I’m in the navy leaving on a deployment so see ya near the end of 2014 when I get back guys, I am gonna miss this site and all the rad friends I made, - even the silly ask blog ones - and still make on here, see ya everybody!!!!)

I believe that this video is perhaps the greatest on the internet. Internet culture amassed to a point and birthed this. I can’t quite explain why… For those uninitiated the video above is by CBoyardee, one of the key figures behind Charles Barkley’s Shut Up and Jam Gaiden. I’m sure, give or take a number of years, we’ll have some formed discussion of an internet canon, that is, works produced for the internet, through means of the internet to deliver a message, simple or not it’s inevitable.

Yes at some point we will inevitably be reduced to discussing (as a collective culture) the importance of certain popular internet memetics. I don’t doubt this. It always seems to be the way with new or different means of communication. I don’t believe for a moment that the internet age has produced anything as beautiful as Dilbert 3.

I can’t really explain it. The video seems not to embrace internet culture, but succumb to it, the entire video plays out to a melancholic tune. Said melancholic tune is apparently a cover of the title theme to a Game boy Robocop game. The humour, if there can even be said to be a sense of humour, is somewhat referential in nature, but not the direct kind you’d see in Family Guy. The video appears to be defeatist, and it embraces it. It’s all very reminiscent of a cut-scene from one of those horrible CD-I Zelda games. It’s a minimal effort MS-Paint affair. Really the plot could have suited anything, disenfranchised office worker murders colleagues and offs self.

It’s like the video challenges you to find meaning in it. I mean, if this very well weren’t Dilbert we’d perhaps appreciate it as a work of surreal genius. If this weren’t surreal we might as well see it as a work of mere fanfiction. Perhaps it is merely fanfiction with a surreal tinge. I can’t stop thinking about this. The thought I most frequently entertain is that the video is a collective of internet intelligence in the form of a surreal Dilbert fanfiction, reflected back and revelling in its own ridiculous nature. It’s Mr. CBoyardee turning a mirror on the internet, it is a dream collection of forum posts.

It probably doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a really good video on the internet. There are few really good internet videos, but they, at least this is one, probably.
